A fast-food drive-through on Lurleen B. Wallace Boulevard was gutted by a kitchen fire that crews were still working to completely extinguish Friday morning.

The fire broke out at the Sonic drive-through at 2910 Lurleen B. Wallace Boulevard, just before that highway meets McFarland Boulevard.

Trucks and personnel from both Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue and the Northport Fire Rescue Service responded to combat the fire.

Although the building appears to have been badly damaged in the blaze, no injuries have been reported as of 8:30 Friday morning.
