No one at Northport Fire Rescue was immediately available to answer questions about the inflagration, but Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter of the Northport Police Department said some of their officers also responded to the scene.

Carpenter said he is not a spokesperson for the fire department, but could tell the Thread that there was some manner of structure fire at either a home or a farm structure, such as a barn, in the area of the neighborhood, which is not far from where MLK meets Snows Mill Avenue.

Carpenter said the fire was reportedly under control and there were no injuries reported as of 7 p.m. Sunday.
