Nancy Carolyn Garner, 85, of Tuscaloosa, passed away September 9, 2025, at home.

She was married to her husband, Jimmy Garner 67 years. She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and a dedicated Christian. She was an avid Alabama Football fan. Services will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, 2:00 pm. at Magnolia Chapel South with Bro. John Wiggins and Bro. Jimmy Garner officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be held Monday, September 15, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Magnolia Chapel South.

She is preceded in death by her infant son, James Dennis Garner, her father, Robert A. Stewart, her mother, Pauline Ballard Stewart, and her brother, Harold Stewart.

Survivors include her husband; Jimmy H. Garner, daughter; Paulette Robertson (Tim), grandson; Roman Robertson, sisters; Sue Stewart of Stevenson, AL., Judy Bailey (Alan) of Flat Rock, AL., Denise Stewart Postelle of Atlanta GA. , brothers; Robert D. Stewart (Anne) of Melton, FL, Kenneth Stewart (Diane) of Cohutta, GA. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

Carolyn was born in Stevenson, AL on May 29, 1940. She grew up in Stevenson and graduated from high school there in 1958. She married Jimmy Garner, August 16, 1958. August 16, 2025, they were married for 67 years. She was a faithful, loving wife, and she was very supportive of her husband’s call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a member of Skyland Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, AL. Her hobbies were housework and quilting. The quilt that will be draped across her casket, she quilted in advance for this special celebration day.

Pallbearers will be Tim Robertson, Roman Robertson, Ricky Mundy, Harrison Sentell, Mike Bennett, and Michael Bennett. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Brian Wilhite and staff, Dr. Paul Diaz and team of Riverview Dental Designs, DCH Home Health, Hospice of West Alabama, Various sitters, and Lynn and Kathy Harrison of Diggs, Idaho.
