Minor Damage Reported As Tornado Passes Through Tuscaloosa County
The first reports of damage are coming in from western Tuscaloosa County after a tornado passed through the region Saturday afternoon.
The NWS issued a "downstream" tornado warning for Tuscaloosa County around 3:20 p.m., extending a series of warnings tied to a long-track cell that originated in Mississippi and passed through Sumter, Pickens and Greene County.

At around 3:40 p.m., the NWS reclassified the tornado warning as radar-confirmed in Tuscaloosa County after a tornado debris signature became apparent around Elrod.
A trained storm spotter has since reported damage in that area.
"Numerous trees snapped. A few trees uprooted. At least one house with roof damage," their report said. "Spotter saw the tornado cross US-82 near Minas Road."
The Tuscaloosa County EMA shared a photo of storm damage on Tierce Patton Road.
There has also been extensive damage at the Pier 43 boat dock and gas station on Highway 43 near Lake Tuscaloosa.
