Town of Gordo Suffers “Extensive” Tornado Damage
The town of Gordo, Alabama in Pickens County has suffered "extensive" tornado damage Saturday afternoon.
A spinup tornado warning was issued for Pickens County around 4:45 p.m., and debris signatures were the first sign of major damage when it struck Gordo.

Damage reports have since come in, and the town government took to Facebook to say they have been badly damaged.
"All first responders are out and working at this time. We ask that everyone stay weather aware and stay sheltered. For the safety of our citizens, please stay off the road."
UPDATE: Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Troopers said many Pickens County Roads have been made impassable by storm damage.
"U.S. 82, U.S. 86, Alabama 159, and Pickens County 16 all experienced fallen trees and debris on the roadway. Emergency crews are working to clear the roadways," a Trooper spokesman said.
Storm Chaser photos and video show structural damage, trees snapped and more.
