A 22-year-old West Alabama woman was killed Monday near the Jefferson community in Marengo County, Alabama Law Enforcement State Troopers have confirmed.

Trooper Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Troopers, said the victim was 22-year-old Jada Mariah Lockett, a Linden woman.

King said Lockett was driving a 2017 Honda Accord on Alabama Highway 28 when she collided with a 2019 Mack tractor trailer.

Lockett was pronounced dead on the scene, King said.

The wreck happened around noon on the highway's Mile Marker 32, about three miles east of Jefferson.

No further details were available Monday night and King said Troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the accident.
