A person has been arrested after a Tuesday morning shooting at an apartment complex in Tuscaloosa that left one woman injured.

Tuscaloosa Police officers were called to Forrester Gardens apartments on James I. Harrison, Jr. Parkway just before 7 a.m. on reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a 40-year-old woman who had suffered a gunshot wound. She was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.

 

Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for Tuscaloosa Police Department, confirmed at 9:13 a.m. that one male suspect was in custody. She said the case appears to be domestic-related.

Holy Spirit Catholic School, located on James I. Harrison, Jr. Parkway, was briefly placed on lockdown during the search.

The suspect has not been identified as of publishing. He is currently being questioned by the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit. Any further updates on charges and the condition of the victim will be released at a later time.
