State Police Investigating After West Alabama Man Found Shot to Death
State and local police are working together to find answers after a 40-year-old man was found fatally shot in Lamar County Monday morning.
In a Wednesday afternoon press release, Lamar County District Attorney Andy Hamlin said officers were called to a residence on Steedley Road outside Millport, Alabama Monday, where they discovered a man dead inside.
The victim was 40-year-old Andrew Patrick Cunningham, Hamlin said, and his cause of death appeared to be gunshot wounds,
Hamlin said the Lamar County Sheriff's Office, the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation and Hamlin's own office are now working together on a death investigation.
“The investigators are working really hard to piece together what happened to Mr. Cunningham. If anyone has any information about Mr. Cunningham’s death, please contact my office or the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department,” Hamlin said.
