Human Remains Found in Lamar County Spark Multi-Agency Investigation
A death investigation is underway by multiple agencies following the discovery of human remains in rural Lamar County Tuesday morning.
According to a release fro the 24th Judicial Court of Alabama, the remains were found in the 1700 block of Old Calvert Road in Sulligent. Investigators with the 24th Judicial District Attorney's Office, the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation and Lamar County Sheriff's Office are working together on the case.
The release stated the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences will conduct an autopsy to confirm the identity of the victim.
No other information is available as the agencies continue to investigate the case.
