Kathleen Stripling (October 19th, 1929 – December 24th, 2022)

Kathleen Stripling, age 93, of Northport, Alabama, passed away on December 24, 2022 at Hospice of West Alabama.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022, at Magnolia Chapel North with Bro. Dan Turman and Bro. Leon Winters officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in Fayette, Ala. with Magnolia Chapel North directing. Visitation will be 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David Howard Barnett, Maude Barnett Sullivan and Tulley Sullivan; husband, Calvin Stripling, Sr; son, Garland (Jim) Stripling; granddaughter, Brandee Stripling; daughter-in- law, Dianne Lynn Stripling; sister, Elaine Freeman; and brother, Hossie Sullivan.

Survivors include her children, Calvin Stripling, Jr (Delores), Billy Stripling (Erin), Dwight Stripling; Larry Stripling (Debbie), Gail Stripling Taylor; her grandchildren, Jason Stripling, David Stripling, Angie Corley Mitchell, Tyler Roland, Kaitlyn Wyatt, Beth Larimore, Brad Stripling, Brandon Stripling, Phillip Rinehart, Sandy Childers, Laramie Rice, Wesley Stripling; daughter-in-law, Donna Stripling; two sisters, Jean Moore Hayes and Ruth Montgomery; and a host of other extended family and friends who lovingly knew her as 'Grannie' and 'Aunt Kat'.

Pallbearers will be David Stripling, Tyler Roland, Chad Hunter Wyatt, Brandon Stripling, Luke Stripling, Brayden Corley, Gary Newman, and Clay Townsend.

Honorary pallbearers include Hospice of West Alabama, Regina Colburn, Linda and Leon Winters, Felicia Collins, Elizabeth Butler, Teresa and Tommie Smith, and Cinda Perry.

Kathleen was employed by Druid City Sitter Service for 11 years and was a faithful member of Springhill Baptist Church for most of her life. But first and foremost, she devoted her life in service to her family and friends, fulfilling each and every verse of the Proverbs 31 woman. This proverb is a beautifully painted picture of Kathleen in scripture. She flawlessly exemplified what it meant to be a Godly woman. She loved and cared for every person that came into her life, and they could not help but to love her in return. Anyone was welcome in her home and at her table; she accepted each one with a smile and open arms. Never a person left her presence unless they had a full stomach and heart, unconditionally loved and faithfully prayed for.

She was clothed with strength, honor, wisdom, kindness, and pure goodness. She was patient, trusting and long-suffering, God's hands and feet, and her family's gateway to heaven. She preserved the good, the true and the beautiful. Her laughter, humor, and sweet disposition will be tremendously missed by all who were blessed to know her. We honor her for the wonderful life she lived and the Godly example she set before us, for all the work her precious hands have done in our lives, and for the countless prayers she offered up for us. Our world will be a much darker place without her in it, but oh what heaven has gained! A true angel from earth. We love you, Mother and Grannie, and we can't wait to see you again in the presence of Jesus.
