Janet C. Lollar, age 76, of Northport, AL, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022, at DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Her Memorial Service will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday evening, December 30, 2022, at Magnolia Chapel North with Bro. Clark Sims officiating, and Magnolia Chapel North directing. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:30 prior to the service.

Janet was born on May 27, 1946, to R.C. and Gaynell Carroll in Daytona Beach, FL. She lived there until moving to Berry, AL, where she attended high school and met her future husband, Charles Lollar. She attended college at David Lipscomb University and Auburn University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development. She returned to Berry, AL, where she reconnected and fell in love with Charles. They married on June 6, 1969; and were happily married for over 53 years. After marriage, they settled in Jasper, AL, for four years, where their children, Lance and Jill, were born. They eventually landed in Northport, where Janet worked for 25 years for the state of Alabama. Later in life, she was blessed to become “Granna” to Colin, Randi-Hope, and Cam. Janet loved the Lord and had a true knack for serving others. Outside of family and church work, Janet loved to travel the world with her husband, her grandchildren, and her friends. Janet was known for her sweet spirit, smile, kindness, hospitality, generosity, graciousness, delicious cooking, and loving friendship.

Janet was preceded in death by her father, R.C. Carroll, her mother, Gaynell Carroll Mayberry, her stepfather, Paul Mayberry, and her son-in-law, David Jacobs.

Janet is survived by her husband, Charles Lollar; her son, Lance (Tanya) Lollar; her daughter, Jill Jacobs; her brother, Glen (Donna) Carroll; her sister, Sarah (Bob) Roberts; her grandchildren, Colin Jacobs, Randi Hope Lollar, and Cam Jacobs; and many extended family members and friends.

The family would like to recognize the dedicated and loving TSICU nurses on the 2nd floor of DCH Medical Center, North Tuscaloosa Church of Christ members, the Cliff-dwellers, and Janet’s “Forever Friends” as Honorary Pallbearers.
