Joan Shirley Mosley, age 82, passed away peacefully at home on November 27, 2025.

Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Williamson Cemetery, Northport, Alabama, with David Weldon officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wyatt Mosley, her parents, Joseph Emil and Pauline Dyer Shirley, and her great-grandson, Foster Lane Mosley.

Joan was born on December 1, 1942, in Northport and graduated from Tuscaloosa High School. In 1964, after graduating from the University of Alabama, where she was a proud member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, she married her high school sweetheart, Jim, and began a career teaching preschool before focusing full-time on building a home and raising her family, joyfully spoiling each of her grandchildren from the day each was born. She loved traveling with her husband, family, and friends and did so at every opportunity throughout many years. She remained calm in a crisis and deeply cared for her family, teaching them to care for each other in turn.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grandview Hospital NICU.
