Tuscaloosa, Ala. - A pair of Crimson Tide stars earned major recognition from the SEC for their play this season, a 23-7 season that saw the Crimson Tide finish third in the SEC regular season standings.

Labaron Philon, a five-star freshman from Mobile, Alabama, was named to the All-SEC Freshman team after a stellar first-year (and possibly only year) with the Crimson Tide.

Philon averaged 10.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game in the regular season. He was named SEC Freshman of the Week three times this season, and scored double-digit points in 19 games this season.

His top performance came against South Dakota State in December, scoring 21 points while shooting 8-14 from the field and 2-7 from three-point range. Philon also leads the Crimson Tide in steals, averaging 1.3 per game.

Mark Sears earned All-SEC First Team for the second time in his career - just the ninth player in program history to do so. Sears averaged 19.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, and five assists per game this season. He scored 20 or more points in 18 games this season with three 30-point performances in conference play.
