As is standard procedure, the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit will take over the scene and handle the investigation.

VCU Co-Commander Marty Sellers told the Thread that their investigation was still in its early stages Sunday evening, but could confirm an adult male was shot and killed.

If the death bears out to be a homicide, it will be the fifth the VCU has investigated so far in 2025 after a record-breaking year in '24.
