Former Northridge High School Jaguar Brodric Martin has been drafted by the Detroit Lions of the National Football League. The Lions selected the Western Kentucky product with the 33rd selection of the third round of the draft despite him being graded as a 6th or 7th round prospect by many analysts.

Martin attended North Alabama out of high school. He came to Florence as a 6'6" 262 pound unrated prospect and redshirted his freshman season. He was at North Alabama from 2017-2020.

Following the 2020 season, Martin transferred to Western Kentucky, where he played for two seasons, using leftover eligibility from his red shirt season and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Martin finished his time with the Hilltoppers having recorded 62 tackles and four sacks with three pass deflections. In the East-West Shrine Bowl, Martin made the most of his opportunity and notched two tackles and a fumble recovery.

Martin became the third player taken by Detroit with ties to Tuscaloosa in this year's draft, following Jahmyr Gibbs and Brian Branch out of the University of Alabama.
