McVay is listed as 6-foot-6 tall with a weight of 358 pounds. 247Sports composite rating of McVay is 0.9231 (out of 1).

"McVay owns a large frame with a good wing-span," according to Allen Trieu of 247Sports. "Plays with a sturdy base and has the natural power and strength to where he is tough to bull-rush, but he is also skilled enough as a pass protector to handle speed rushers.

McVay will be joining Alabama after the team has seen five offensive lineman enter the transfer portal: Damieon George, Tanner Bowles, Javion Cohen, Amari Kight and Tommy Brockermeyer.

McVay originally announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Aug. 11. McVay was primarily recruited by defensive line coach Freddie Roach.
