A man died Wednesday evening shortly after he was involved in a two-vehicle accident on Tuscaloosa's Jack Warner Parkway.

Major Kip Hart, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, told local media that TPD was called to the scene of a wreck at Jack Warner and 25th Avenue a few minutes before 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Hart said the wreck involved two vehicles, and one person was critically injured. The injured party, a 47-year-old man, was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment but died soon after.

Hart said TPD's Traffic Homicide Unit is working to reconstruct the accident and determine the circumstances surrounding it.

As of Wednesday night, TPD is not releasing the victim's name.
