Alabama Defeats Yale 102–78 Behind the Tide’s Incredible Shooting Performance From Three
Alabama closes 2025 off with a dominating 102-78 victory over Yale in the Crimson Tide's last non-conference game of the season. This win was led by Alabama's incredible three-point shooting, as the Tide made 22 in Monday's win.

Despite the Tide being without its leading scorer, sophomore guard Labaron Phlon, for tonight's game, the Tide had no problem scoring, as its first 15 points came from beyond the arc. Alabama began by shooting five-for-six from three. That pace didn't slow down, as the Tide finished the first half with 11 made three-pointers. Five different Crimson Tide players scored at least two three-pointers in the first half.
Yale kept it close at first. Once the game hit the seven-minute mark in the first half, it was all Alabama. The Crimson Tide outscored the Bulldogs 23-10 over the last seven minutes of the first half. This run allowed Alabama to take a commanding 24-point lead into halftime, after an Amari Allen three-pointer just before the half concluded.
Allen was a problem for Yale in the first half. The Freshman Forward led the team in first-half points (14) and tied with Aiden Sherrell in rebounds (7). Aden Holloway led the team in assists (5) to close the first half.
Another thing the Crimson Tide did well in the first half was rebounding. Alabama finished with 28 rebounds (10 offensive) to Yale's 14.
Alabama came out in the second half, picking up where they left off. Yale opened the half with a 4-0 run. Holloway responded, going on an 8-0 run of his own with two 3-pointers and a layup. This helped put the Tide back up by 26 points with 17:17 left in the contest.
Yale was never able to recover, as the Crimson Tide continued its barrage of threes, adding 11 more in the second half of Monday's win, thanks to Alabama's backcourt, which recorded 17 assists and zero turnovers, and Alabama's front court did a fantastic job on the glass, with the Tide finishing the night with 46 rebounds, 21 of them offensive, which led to 23 second-chance points.
In the second half, Alabama led by 35 points with 7:22 left in regulation, the Crimson Tide's largest lead of the game. Yale would go on to cut this lead down to 23 points, but it would be too late with the Crimson Tide securing the 26-point victory after a four-point layup by Holloway in the final minute of regulation, which gave him 26 points in tonight's game.
