The City of Tuscaloosa's iconic Holidays on the Plaza skating rink and Tinsel Trail tree display will return to downtown later this month.

Richard Rush, the city's communications director, said the seasonal attraction will open in Government Plaza on Friday, November 24th, and remain open for around seven weeks of holiday delight before it wraps up on Monday, January 15th.

As always, Holidays on the Plaza will feature an outdoor ice-skating rink and the Tinsel Trail of Christmas trees bought and decorated by area entities to benefit Tuscaloosa's One Place.

Admission to the park is always free, but guests must purchase passes to ice skate - those go on sale next Monday, November 6th. Rush said tickets purchased are good for any day of the season and can also be purchased on-site.

The skating rink can host group events like birthday parties and corporate events in the winter wonderland, but they must be booked 14 days in advance. Private ice rink parties are also available at a premium price.
