In addition to revenue sharing and roster limits, athletes who sign NIL deals of $600 or more will now have to have any agreement over that amount vetted by a committee, which will oversee NIL deals to eliminate pay-for-play in college athletics.

Revenue sharing will also effectively increase the budget for athletic departments. Now, programs will have $20.5 million to split up among their athletics programs. While football will almost certainly get the lion's share, it is yet to be determined exactly how the money will be split up.

Some athletic programs were dreading this day, but not Greg Byrne and Alabama Athletics. On Saturday, Byrne released a statement announcing that Alabama will fully fund the new revenue-sharing model for UA Athletics, which is around $20.5 million this year.

"Alabama athletics has been planning for this day and making decisions that best position our department for long-term success," Byrne said.

He also shared his approval of the house settlement, stating that it offers much-needed stability to the ever-changing landscape of collegiate athletics.

"We're extremely proud of the world-class resources our student-athletes receive and will now add to that by offering new scholarships while fully funding revenue sharing," Byrne continued.

The new revenue sharing model will go into effect on July 1.
