Tuscaloosa Trio Charged for Robberies Targeting Hispanic Victims

Three young men in Tuscaloosa have been arrested and charged for their alleged roles in an armed robbery spree targeting Hispanic victims in the city.

According to court documents filed Monday, several people in and around a neighborhood off Hargrove Road told Tuscaloosa Police last month that they were robbed at gunpoint by several young men.

A total of six victims said they were targeted in late January and on four different dates in February. The circumstances of each robbery were similar - victims said one man pointed a handgun at them and demanded money and other belongings, and one woman said she was hit in the face when she told the robberies she had no money to give them.

TPD found the alleged robbers were intentionally, specifically targeting Hispanic victims, got to work and identified three suspects in the case, all under the age of 20.

Investigators allege Ta'keldrick Ke'Anthony White, 19, worked with Rodney Delshawn Rice, Jr. and Davian Nazir Scott, who are both 18, to commit the robberies.

White was charged with six counts of first-degree robbery plus one count of first-degree burglary. Rice was charged with five counts of first-degree robbery, one count of first-degree burglary and one count of breaking and entering a vehicle.

Scott, who was allegedly only involved in one of the incidents targeting the Hispanic community, was charged with a single count of first-degree robbery but was reportedly connected to a series of vehicle break-ins at the Links Apartments in Tuscaloosa on February 27th. For that, he was charged with 10 counts of breaking a vehicle plus two charges related to possessing stolen property.

All three suspects remain in the Tuscaloosa County Jail Monday afternoon, and additional charges may be filed across multiple incidents as their alleged roles in each crime are worked out.
