Hilliard “Reg” Hoggle (May 2nd, 1941 – March 14th, 2023)

Hilliard “Reg” Hoggle, age 81 of Greensboro, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday March 17, 2023 at Antioch Baptist Church in Greensboro. Magnolia Chapel South will be directing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Reg’s brother-in-law, Rev. Arthur Thomas, and grandson, Bro. Chris Crawford will be officiating the service.

Reg was greeted in heaven by his parents Chester and Eva Hoggle, his brother, Wayne Hoggle and his son, William Hoggle. Reg is survived by his loving wife Bertha Jean Hoggle; his son, Clayton Hoggle; his daughters, Dianne Hoggle (Ricky), Rhonda Gail Johnson, and his daughter-in-law, Dawn Hoggle; his grandchildren, Cody Hoggle, Savannah Hoggle, Ginger Jones (Jerome), Chris Crawford (Jami), Aaron Sudasna (Kelsey), and Eve Pender; his great-grandchildren, Justin Jones, Jared Jones, Jadyn Jones, Jaxson Jones, Haston Crawford, Caleb Crawford, Jamee Fondren, Hayden Pender, and Hailey Pender; his great-great- granddaughter LeeAnna; His sister Hilda Collins (Bobby), his sister-in-law Dot Hoggle; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Justin Jones, Jared Jones, Haston Crawford (great grandsons), Lee Collins (nephew), Craig Hoggle, Morgan Hoggle, Tom Hoggle Jr., and Andrew Hoggle (great nephews).

Honorary Pallbearers: Robert Hoggle, Tom Hoggle Sr., Keith Hoggle, Bobby Collins, Jerome Jones, Laverne Smelley, and Aaron Sudasna.

Reg was born May 2, 1941. He dedicated his life to Jesus at a young age and loved serving at his church. Reg and Bertha Jean married May 26, 1995. He was devoted to his family and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The kids always knew where to get a treat; Reg was never without a Werther’s original or peppermint. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. He was an avid hunter and loved taking his nephews and grandkids out to hunt for the big one. He loved playing Domino’s with his brother and friends. He never missed an Atlanta Braves game and loved watching his grandkids play baseball. He also love watching Alabama and Southern Academy Football. Reg proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He was called to duty several times throughout his service and always had many stories to tell. He retired from the Guard after 27 years. Reg later worked for the Hale County Highway Department and retired after 30 plus years. He would often brag about helping to build a road when driving with his family. Our family will miss his sweet presence, but we are at peace knowing that Reg is rejoicing in heaven with our Lord and Savior and is now walking the streets of gold with his son William and his many loved ones. We know that this goodbye is only for a little while and we will all see him again in our eternal home in Glory.
