Commercial Truck Turnover Closes Highway 82 in Tuscaloosa County Wednesday
A single-vehicle accident closed lanes of a major highway in Tuscaloosa Wednesday afternoon after a commercial truck overturned on the roadway.
Corporal Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Alabama State Troopers in West Alabama, said the wreck happened around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The accident took place on Highway 82 near mile marker 57 south of the Tuscaloosa city limits, King said, and involved one commercial vehicle.
The wreck has left the eastbound lanes on Highway 82 closed for an indefinite period of time, Corporal King said. Traffic is being detoured at Tuscaloosa County Road 91.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are on scene investigating and will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly, he said.
