Harold Edison Bigham (February 21st, 1943 - November 12th, 2021)

Heavens journey began for Harold Edison Bigham, age 78 of Tuscaloosa ending his earthly journey on November 12, 2021.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Rev. Billy Gray officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing.

Early in life Harold developed a love for driving. Professionally he drove for Greyhound for 25 years. In retirement for "pocket change" he drove for local dealerships. With a mind like an amazing road map, he could take you on highways and byways near and far, always for adventure. Day trips became his favorite late in life.

Shortly before age 50 he rekindled a friendship with a classmate he dated in school, he had not seen in 32 years, Jane Reck Robinson. During a brief long distance courtship, Jane led him to the Lord. They married on his 50th birthday , February 21, 1993.

A marriage based on Sol. 6:3 ; I am my beloved and my beloved is mine. Each occasional card was signed "your beloved", Harold who truly was a beloved husband and man. Shortly after marriage the care of Jane's mother came about , they felt best to take her to her home in Greensboro, AL.

"Miss Addie" adored Harold, and would answer his commands rather than Jane's during this time. As members of Greensboro Baptist Church, Harold was tour guide for seniors, he took them on many memorable trips on their church bus. He was dearly loved by the YES church members.

Together they enjoyed traveling, gardening, Alabama football and home projects. In 2015 they built a small cabin behind their home to downsize for senior years. He most enjoyed fellowship with their 1961 classmates where he played basketball on the 1960 TCHS team, winning the Alabama State Championship game.

Harold was a member of Taylorville Baptist Church. He was a lifetime Mason with duel memberships in Hoover Lodge, VonBayer which merged with J.Collier. He served as worshipful master three times. He enjoyed woodworking classes at Shelton State, making simple and fine furniture. He could repair most everything which leaves Jane to wonder "what will be the first thing to break now" without Harold to repair?

He is preceded in death by his mother; Stella Walker Bigham, father; John Henry Bigham, and his brother; Herbert Bigham.

Survivors include his wife Jane Reck Bigham, children; Shannon Bigham, Cindy Crumpton, Jason Bigham and Shena Moon, step-daughter; Rebecca Barnette, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a host of friends and his faithful yorkie "Dolly".

Lost - Yesterday, somewhere between sunrise and sunset, two golden hours, each set with sixty diamond minutes.
