A West Alabama School System has closed today after storms dropped torrential rainfall.

According to ABC 33/40 Chief Meteorologist James Spann, Winfield City Schools have closed due to flooding issues. Many roadways and bus routes are impassible due to flooding.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for many counties to the north while a Flood Warning is in effect for many counties in West Alabama.
