Some schools in West Alabama will delay the start of classes on Wednesday because of the expectation for extremely cold, below-freezing temperatures.

Tuscaloosa County Schools on Two-Hour Delay
"Due to the extreme cold, all Tuscaloosa County School System schools and offices will operate on a two-hour delay Wednesday, January 22, 2025."
Tuscaloosa City Schools Resume Normal Operations
"Tomorrow, Jan. 22, we do not expect any winter weather other than cold temperatures. We expect to have a normal school day on Wednesday. However, due to the colder than normal temperatures, we ask that students dress warmly.
We will communicate a make-up date for today's closure at a later date. Thank you and we look forward to seeing our students tomorrow. "
Shelton State Community College will resume normal hours of operation on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
