Some schools across West Alabama, including those in our coverage area, are deciding to dismiss early or cancel afterschool activities on Tuesday as severe weather, including the threat of high winds and isolated tornadoes, approaches.

We will keep an updated list of Central and West Alabama schools in our area that will change operations on Tuesday - check back for additions to the list in real-time as they are announced.

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY SCHOOLS CONTINUE NORMAL DAY, SOME GAMES MAY BE CANCELLED

"There is a chance of severe weather for our area this evening, March 4, 2025. The forecast includes rain and wind beginning this afternoon, and then the main line is predicted to enter our area later in the evening. Individual athletic events may be rescheduled. Coaches will provide information to teams on specific events. There are no changes to the school day for Tuesday, March 4, and afternoon extended day programs will operate as normal. Please be weather aware and stay close to the ways you receive official information from local meteorologists."

TUSCALOOSA CITY SCHOOLS CANCEL ALL AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Due to the threat of severe weather expected later this afternoon and evening, the Tuscaloosa City Schools will cancel all after-school activities today, Tuesday, March 4. We will continue to operate a normal school day otherwise, with bus transportation after dismissal. However, all after school activities and extended day will be canceled. Be sure to stay safe and weather aware.
