No One Home When Pre-Dawn Fire Destroys Tuscaloosa Home Monday
No one was home and no one was hurt when a large fire engulfed a home in south Tuscaloosa early Monday morning.
Holly Whigham, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue Service, said crews responded to Meadow Ridge Drive off Highway 69 South around 1 a.m. Monday on reports of a house fire.
A house there was engulfed in flames that firefighters were eventually able to extinguish, but Whigham said the house was likely a total loss.
Fortunately, no one was home at the time of the fire.
TFR said its cause is under investigation, as is standard practice after a large structure fire.
