Elise Dunn Bolton (January 13th, 1930 – April 30th, 2026)

Elise Dunn Bolton, 96, of Northport, Alabama, passed away April 30, 2026, at her residence.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Goodwater Cemetery, Goodwater Road, Northport, AL 35475, with Bro. Tim Fields officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.M. Bolton; parents Lonnie Bell Dunn, Sr. and Clara Dunn; and siblings Marie Johnson, Clara Bell Fields, Dorothy Fields, Lonnie Bell Dunn, Jr., Mattie Marcum and David Dunn.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews.

Elise was a lifelong resident of Tuscaloosa County. She attended Athens College and graduated from the University of Alabama. She taught in and retired from the Tuscaloosa County School System. Elise spent her retirement years enjoying the outdoors surrounding her home.

For many years, Elise took pleasure in being the caretaker of Goodwater Church and Cemetery. She especially looked forward to Decoration Day at Goodwater every year on the second Sunday of May.

Elise will be missed by her family and community friends.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Bagwell, Nate Dunn, Bruce Dye, John Earl Hayworth, Anthony Howell and Terry Long.
