A woman has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after she allegedly shot her daughter and son-in-law at a residence in the Vance area of Tuscaloosa County on Saturday.

Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said officers were called to the 11000 block of Hen Smith Road at about 6 p.m. on Saturday.

A man, Corey Cook, had been shot multiple times, and his wife, Katlyn Marin, had been shot once.

Kennedy said Cook's injuries were considered life-threatening, but he is in stable condition after being airlifted from the scene. Martin was not critically wounded.

According to the VCU, both victims were living with Angela Martin, age 51, who is the mother of Katlyn Martin.

After interviewing her and other family members, the VCU arrested Angela Martin and charged her with two counts of attempted murder.

"After interviewing witnesses and securing the physical evidence it was determined that during a financial argument, the mother, Angela Martin, retrieved a firearm and shot both her daughter and her daughter’s husband," Kennedy wrote. "At this time, Martin has been charged with two counts of Attempted Murder and has been committed to the county jail with no bond."
