Driver Arrested After Hitting Pedestrian & Fleeing Scene in Tuscaloosa, Victim Fighting for Life
A pedestrian is being treated for life-threatening injuries in a Huntsville hospital after she was struck by a motorist in Tuscaloosa Sunday night.
Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said officers were called to the scene of a car-on-pedestrian collision around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

The accident happened near the intersection of James I Harrison Parkway and Greensboro Avenue, near Dave's Crimson Bar.
Police report the 34-year-old woman was crossing Greensboro Avenue when the driver turned right from James I. Harrison Parkway and struck her.
TPD does not initially believe the driver, identified as 44-year-old Granville Jermaine Hardy, was impaired at the time of the accident, but he fled the scene soon after it happened.
"He initially pulled over at a nearby business, but left as officers were arriving," Taylor said.
Police caught up with Hardy and arrested him. He was booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, and bond was set at $2,500.
Taylor said he could face further charges.
The victim, 34, was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center and later flown to a hospital in Huntsville, according to TPD, who said her injuries are life-threatening.
