Donna Jo Davis Aaron, age 79, of Northport, Alabama, passed away on August 7, 2022.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with The Rev. Dr. Daniel I. Thornton officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Sarah Davis; and brother, Larry Davis.

Survivors include her husband Walter “Sonny” Aaron; sons, Michael Aaron (Laura) and Brian Aaron (Mary Goodloe); sister, Debra Fitzgerald (Darryl); grandchildren, Logan Rigsby, Davis Aaron, Walt Aaron, Laura Beth Aaron, Maggie Aaron, and Sarah Aaron.

Donna was born in Wetumpka, Alabama. She received degrees from The University of Alabama in Mathematics and Education. She was an educator for over 50 years with many of those years as a math teacher at Tuscaloosa County High School.

She loved the City of Northport, serving as both a city councilwoman and later as mayor, as well as belonging to various civic organizations. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and teacher; and her presence will be greatly missed.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. James Robinson, Dr. Earl Stewart, ICU staff at Northport Medical Center, Charles Swann, Hardy McCollum, Northport United Methodist Church, former colleagues, and students.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Donna Davis Aaron Endowed Memorial Scholarship at The University of Alabama. Checks can be mailed to the National Alumni Association, Attn: Scholarship Dept., Box 861928, Tuscaloosa, AL 35486.
