Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said officers were called to the building around 9:45 a.m. Thursday to investigate the U-Haul, which had been parked on the street near the building and left there.

Nearby roads were briefly closed while the police department checked the vehicle for explosives. None were found, Taylor said, and police do not believe there is any danger to the public.

Investigators are still searching for the person who left the trailer near the building.

The search comes a few months after an abandoned Taco Bell delivery order triggered a bomb scare at the courthouse in February.
