U-Haul Left at Tuscaloosa Federal Courthouse Poses No Threat, Police Say
There is no threat to the public after a U-haul trailer was left outside the Federal Courthouse in downtown Tuscaloosa, police said Thursday morning.
Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said officers were called to the building around 9:45 a.m. Thursday to investigate the U-Haul, which had been parked on the street near the building and left there.
Nearby roads were briefly closed while the police department checked the vehicle for explosives. None were found, Taylor said, and police do not believe there is any danger to the public.
Investigators are still searching for the person who left the trailer near the building.
