Police Arrest Man Injured in Gunfight at Cottondale McDonald’s Thursday
Police in Tuscaloosa County have arrested a man who was shot and injured during a gunfight he allegedly started at the McDonald's on Buttermilk Road in Cottondale Thursday night.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told local media that Tuscaloosa Police Officers were called to the McDonald's and Chevron combo at 6501 Buttermilk Road on reports of a shooting.
One person who was involved was still on the scene and told investigators that he had been in a physical fight with another man, who police have identified as 23-year-old Kendall Curry.

After the blows were thrown, Curry allegedly got a gun and then opened on the first man, who had a gun of his own and returned fire.
Curry then reportedly fled the scene and arrived at DCH Regional Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound he sustained in the exchange.
Captain Kennedy said the majority of the altercation and gunfight was captured on surveillance cameras, and after reviewing video evidence and interviewing witnesses, investigators arrested Curry and charged him with attempted first-degree assault.
He was placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where he is being held without bond until one can be set by a judge.
