Charlotte Handley Jones, age 86, of Samantha, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Zelma Handley; son, Eddy Alexander; and grandsons, Jeremy Alexander and Matthew Alexander.

She is survived by her husband, D. L. Jones of Northport, AL; daughter, Susan Alexander of Northport, AL; daughter, Cathy Tittle (Ronald) of Northport, AL; son, Brian Alexander of Sanford, FL; grandchildren, Kyle Alexander (Lauren); Jed Joiner (Cortney); Parker Christian (Courtney); Connor Christian (Megan), Nathan Alexander and Amanda Phillips (Ricky); great-grandchiidren, William Alexander, Adrienne Alexander, Alannah Sanders, Beckett Christian, Wells Christian, Alyssa Harris and Rylee Phillips; sister, Carolyn Appling (Harold); special friend Marilyn (Cricket) McGraw, and many nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was born on December 6,1937, in Walker County, AL. She was a 1955 graduate of Gorgas High School in Samantha, AL. She worked for 40 years as Office Manager for Drs. Baker, Burnum and Moody and 10 years in office management for Dr. William Hill. She enjoyed being with her family, travelling and working in her flower garden. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and family were most important in her life.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, son-in-law, Ronald Tittle and nephew, Jim Appling.

Honorary pallbearers will be nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from the Samantha community.

The family offers their sincere appreciation for her outstanding care given by the staff of Heritage Nursing Home and SouthernCare New Beacon.

Services will be held Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m at Sulfur Springs Baptist Church in Samantha, AL with Rev. Joe Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Sulphur Springs Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel North directing. Visitation will be held from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
