A state park in Tuscaloosa will once again welcome trick-or-treaters this weekend for an early, family-friendly Halloween celebration.

Staff and visiting campers at Lake Lurleen State Park take time each year to decorate the park entrance and the recreation vehicles parked there to create a special spooky wonderland just inside the 1,600-acre park.

The takeover, dubbed "Camp Fear" each year, will return to Lake Lurleen this Saturday, October 19th, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Visitors can expect hayrides through the area, trick-or-treating, scary costumes and decorations and more.

The state park requires an admission fee. During the event, it will cost $2 for children under 12 to enter, and $5 for anyone older.

There are also discounts available for campers looking to visit the park who are willing to decorate their vehicles and offer candy to trick-or-treaters.

Lake Lurleen State Park is located off Highway 82 a few miles north of Northport. Learn more on the park's Facebook page or website.
