Cameron Prince Honored In Tuscaloosa, Alabama With Ballon Release and Block Party
On January 3rd, 2005, Cameron Prince was born into a loving family. Since his passing in 2021, his family wanted to make sure they celebrated his birthday the way he would’ve wanted.
Cameron’s family and friends kicked off in 2022 by celebrating his 17th birthday. The celebration was one to remember. It involved a balloon release in his honor and of course, a party!
Cameron’s father Colvin Prince Sr. spoke after witnessing members of the community release dozens of balloons in his son’s honor. He described how he felt seeing so many people there to honor his son. “Awesome is not the word. I guess mind-blowing,” Prince Sr. said.
“The support of the community, Hillcrest High school, the faculty, and staff, it was awesome. This is what Cameron would want. This was Cameron’s day and today we honored him.”
There weren’t many tears shed, as people danced, laughed, and reminisced on Cameron’s spirit and the impact he’s made on their lives. It seems like there wasn’t a single person who had a bad experience with the Cameron Prince.
Cameron Prince passed away on November 18th, 2021 after surgery complications. He was diagnosed with a heart condition at 7 years old.
The void he leaves at Hillcrest High School, and with his friends and family cannot be filled. Loved ones spoke of his “one of a kind personality, and smile would literally light up the room.“
