A brush fire near the 14000 block of Bone Camp Road about a half-mile from AL-Highway 171 scorched about 10 acres worth of wooded area Friday afternoon according to a spokesman of the Town of Coker Fire Department. Responders from the TOCFD as well as Alabama forestry and Carroll's Creek Fire Department assisted with putting out the fire.

According to the TOCFD spokesman, the fire was put out quickly. The fire did reach the lawn of a nearby home, however, no property was damaged. The TOCFD Facebook page confirmed no persons or property was damaged as a result of the fire.

A separate fire reportedly destroyed an abandoned home in Holt Friday morning.
