The fire has been extinguished and was under control shortly after 1 p.m., but the home involved was totally destroyed.

As of 1:45 Friday afternoon, there is no indication anyone was inside the house when it went up in flames.

There is no word yet on the cause of the fire, which will be investigated by the Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue service. A separate woods fire reported Friday on Bone Camp Road in northern Tuscaloosa County is also under control without injuries or structure damage.
