Barbara “Bobbie” Marcum (January 25th, 1940 – March 3rd, 2025)

Barbara "Bobbie" Marcum, age 85, of Northport, Alabama, passed away March 3, 2025 at her residence.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2025, at Magnolia Chapel North with Bro. M. R. Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel North directing. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Marcum; mother, Ila Mae Hallman; father, Taft McPherson; daughters, Sharon Cook and Martha Cook; sister, Annette Stewart; and brothers, Dawson Thurman Turner and Luther Benjamin "L. B." Turner.

Survivors include her daughter, Janet Hamner; sons, Cecil Eugene "Gene" Cook (Stormy) and John Taft Taylor and William Herbert Taylor; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed being outside working in her yard. She enjoyed working over the years - for 27 years at "The Cove Restaurant". She also worked for a florist, arranging flowers and truly enjoyed it. She was never without a job. She always enjoyed working with people. She will be missed by all.

Pallbearers will be Shannon Cook, Noah Cook, Steve Cook, Keith Cook, Jayce Cook, and Lane Hamner.

Honorary pallbearers are Diane Upton, Monroe Bigham, Amber Brown, Shawna West, Sheila Hall, Lila Taylor, and nurses of Enhabit Hospice.
