A Walmart in Tuscaloosa was evacuated Tuesday over reports of a fire inside the store, although responding firefighters have so far only found smoke.

Holly Whigham, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue Service, said they were called to the Walmart on Skyland Boulevard around 6:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Shoppers inside were evacuated and the store was temporarily closed as firefighters investigated.

Whigham said TFR did not see a visible blaze in the store but there was slight smoke inside the building.
