Brush Fire Destroys Home Tuscaloosa Firefighters Couldn’t Access
A home just outside Tuscaloosa was destroyed Tuesday afternoon in a brush fire which might have been caused by the severe storms that blew through the area.
Holly Whigham, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue Service, said they were called to reports of an outdoor blaze burning around 4 o'clock on Warrior Road in the Holt community, east of Tuscaloosa city limits.

What began as a brush fire spread to a nearby home on Warrior Road and engulfed it. Whigham said access to the home was blocked and firefighters could not effectively combat the conflagration.
The house was declared a total loss, but fortunately, no injuries were reported in the Tuesday evening fire, which one source said was likely caused by lightning in the area.
