The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit has announced the arrest of four people following a shooting at The Village at Brook Meadows apartment pool where a three-year-old was injured.

In a release Tuesday morning, the VCU's Commander Captain Jack Kennedy said multiple witnesses reported the shooting that took place at 4:15 p.m. Monday afternoon in the pool area.

According to the report, the child, who was not associated with the suspects in the case, was swimming nearby and was struck by gunfire. The child was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Birmingham and is expected to survive.

The suspects fled the scene on foot and in vehicles. Tuscaloosa Police were able to locate a vehicle with suspects inside who were stopped and attempted to flea on foot.

During the course of the investigation, multiple witnesses and suspects were identified, leading to the arrest of two adults and two teenagers.

Aamod Tre'Shon Jones, 19, was charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of first degree assault as a result of the injuries the child received. Jones is booked on a combined regular and cash bond of $280,000.

Tyriek O'Shay Evans, 18, was charged with two counts of attempted murder and once count of first degree assault on a combined  regular and cash bond on $220,000.

The two juvenile suspects were charged with multiple counts of attempted murder and a first degree assault charge. They are being detained on a cash bond of $100,000 for the assault charge. Alabama law prohibits any identifying information on the juveniles from being released.
