A Tuscaloosa man is facing charges after he allegedly stabbed a person multiple times Wednesday night.

According to a release from Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home in the 1400 block of Gingerwood Lane on an assault.

Kennedy said a victim was found suffering several non-life threatening stab wounds and cuts to their arm and face.

The suspect, Brandon Michael Schaub, was detained on the scene and the VCU was called to investigate the incident.

Kennedy said Schaub was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

Kennedy said the motive in the case is still under investigation but drug or alcohol use is suspected to be a factor in the case.

Jail records did not list Schaub as an inmate on Friday morning, indicating he may have been released on bond.
