Luxury Hotel, Condo & Members Club to Break Ground in Downtown Tuscaloosa
Developers are planning to break ground early next year on a "visionary" seven-story hotel featuring condo units and a private members club.
According to a press release sent to the Thread Tuesday, ALUM Tuscaloosa aims to be the intersection of modern luxury and Title Town traditions, designed specifically for Alabama fans, alumni and parents.
The new building, which will break ground in 2025, is planned for Tuscaloosa's 4th Street, just off University Boulevard downtown.
Elizabeth Hinson, the Marketing Director for the Gray Group at Keller Williams Realty in Tuscaloosa, said pre-sales for units at ALUM Tuscaloosa are already live.
"Imagine a lifestyle where every day begins in a beautifully crafted space, reflecting timeless sophistication and seamless convenience, right in the heart of Tuscaloosa," marketers said in a press release. "From morning coffee in an exclusive on-site café to curated dining, game-day excitement, and special alumni events, ALUM is more than a residence—it's a community that elevates tradition and builds lifelong connections."
Renderings from Works Progress Architecture in Portland, Oregon, show a seven-story structure featuring private facilities including a pool, cigar lounge, clubhouse, and whiskey lounge, plus the promise of a slate of members-only events and spaces exclusive to condo owners.
Other clubs are planned for college football markets including College Station, Texas; Eugene, Oregon; Knoxville, Tennessee; Ann Arbor, Michigan and more.
A luxury restaurant is planned for the space, which will be open to the public regardless of unit ownership.
The condo units at ALUM will come fully furnished and stocked with top-of-the-line Smeg appliances, with layouts featuring one, two, and three bedrooms. According to the press release, each room will feature 10-foot ceilings.
Condo owners will also have the option to join a "rental pool," so their spaces can be rented by guests like a hotel room and generate passive income for those who do not intend to spend all year in the luxurious accommodations.
A website for the new project is live now and says Tuscaloosa's Harrison Construction will manage the construction of the new hotel.
