Perine submitted his name into the transfer portal on January 25 but now will return to The Capstone.

The Prattville High School alum has only appeared in 6 games in 2019 as a freshman. He booted 13 punts as a freshman, averaging 44.7 yards per punt. He had two punts downed inside the 20 yard line and bombed three of his punts over 50 yards.

The 6-foot-1 punter earned adulation from the Alabama fans during his appearance against the Tennessee Vols when he launched a punt 51 yards and subsequently covered his own kick, recording his only tackle in his Alabama career.

BamaCentral's Tony Tsoukalas reports that while Perine is returning to The Capstone, fans should not expect to see him on the field. Perine is retiring from football and will focus on his academics.

The Crimson Tide will enter the 2022 season with James Burnip and Jack Martin as the likely punters. Burnip boomed 48 punts in 2021 averaging 39.1 yards per punt.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
