One woman is dead and another is hurt after a shooting in Tuscaloosa late Saturday night.

Capitan Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, confirmed the shooting shortly after 12 a.m. Sunday.

Sellers said the Tuscaloosa Police Department and VCU are at a shooting at the intersection of Crescent Ridge Road and Jack Warner Parkway.

Sellers said two females were shot. One is dead and one is suffering from wounds that are not life-threatening.

Sellers said an investigation is underway and no further details were available early Sunday morning.

By the count of the Tuscaloosa Thread staff, it is the 15th homicide the VCU has investigated so far this year.
