Northport Candle Company Closing After 3 Years in Business
Northport's own Yellowhammer Candle Company will permanently close its doors in October and end operations at the family business three years after its launch.
In an August 4 announcement on the company's Facebook page, the owners thanked the community for their support over the years. They cited several reasons for closing, including personal health issues and an increase in the cost of supplies.
"We appreciate every single customer. We thank you for every candle, every wax melt, every freshie purchased. This business was truly a family effort at times, and we learned enormously valuable lessons during our experience in the small business arena," the post said.
The company said the store will remain open on Thursdays, Fridays and every other Saturday until the end of their operations, which is tentatively set for October 29.
The store's remaining inventory is on sale for 50% off online and will have fall scents available in-store beginning September 8.
Customers looking to purchase from Yellowhammer Candle Co. can visit their website here or visit their storefront at 2801 Lurleen Wallace Blvd in Northport.
