Wanda Faye Blackmon (September 16th, 1975 – December 9th, 2023)

Wanda Faye Blackmon, age 48 of Northport, passed away on December 9, 2023, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Magnolia Chapel South. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm at the chapel.

She is preceded in death by her mother; Annie Jo Best, father; OC Best, brothers; Robert Best, Johnny Wayne Best, sister; Judy Best.

She is survived by her husband Marcus Blackmon, daughter; Brittany Bonner, sons; Joshua Bailey (Kelly), Jordan Bailey (Kat), Marc Anthony Church, sister; April Smith (Thomas), 4 granddaughters, and 7 grandsons.

Wanda worked for Waffle House for over 30 years, leaving behind a legacy of workmanship, compassion and love. She also owned her own business which she took so much pride in. One thing Wanda loved more than anything was her husband and family. She never knew the term slow down, always living life to the fullest, no matter the circumstance. She always filled the room full of light despite the dark.

Her legacy will carry on through her kids. Her love will never fade. Her husband and family would like to extend appreciation to everyone who has ever helped Wanda and made sure she felt loved.
