The 12th annual Wagner's Turkey Trot will be held next Saturday, November 21st, but not in Midtown Village where the casual race is usually hosted.

Instead, the two-mile run/walk event will be held at Wagner's Warehouse at 406 Bridge Avenue in Northport and is set to kick off at 8 a.m.

The event, presented by Wagner's RunWalk shoe store and co-sponsored by the Tuscaloosa Track Club, features a flat course for runners and walkers of all ages and will also include several giveaways and prizes for participants.

"Our annual Turkey Trot is a great family event, and for me, it signifies the beginning of the holiday season," said Helen Smith, President of the Tuscaloosa Track Club. "I'm so glad we have been able to move the race to a new location that allows for social distancing and for the tradition to continue."

In addition, participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable foods to donate to the Community Soup Bowl -- Organizers aim to collect 500 total items to give to the nonprofit. Cans and food packages can be dropped off throughout the month of November at Wagner's RunWalk at 1800 McFarland Blvd E, Suite 424, or at the Northport warehouse on the day of the race.

Those interested can find out how to register online. Participants of all ages are welcome. Registration is $30 for singles and $35 for families. The entry fee also covers membership dues for the Track Club for 2021 and also includes various discounts at Wagner's shoe stores and a TCC shirt.
